Carole Baskin’s First ‘DWTS’ Song Is Just What You’d Expect
During a recent press conference about the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars, Carole Baskin gave media some insight into what fans can expect from her on the show.
She also revealed what the first song is that she will dance to. Per E! News, the song she chose: “Eye of the Tiger.”
Baskin explains that although she turned down media opportunities left and right, her daughter convinced her to do the show. She states that her daughter said, “Mom, you got to do this.” She added, “And so I contacted them and I thought what they would do to pair me with a star because I have never seen this show and didn’t know how it worked. So once I found out how it actually worked I was even more mortified, but I wanted to do it for my daughter because she does so much for me.”
She said that she hopes the show puts her cats in the spotlight. “That’s why I feel so much pressure to stay in this competition for as long as I possibly can. Because every single week, I hope to be giving that message in front of people that these cats don’t belong in cages, and we have to save them in the wild before they disappear completely.”
Carole lastly adds that leopards are the animal that gives her the most inspiration. She states, “When they kill an animal, they can pull an animal that’s something like 10 times their weight up into a tree. And that way, they don’t have to fight off lions and hyenas, so I really think the way the leopard moves is something I want to bring to the dance floor.”
Dancing With the Stars premieres on Monday, Sept. 14.
