And We Have A Winner… One Lucky Person In California Wins Monday’s $699.8 Million Powerball Jackpot
Someone in California is waking up nearly $700 million richer today(minus all the taxes, of course). Lottery officials announced a single ticket sold in Morro Bay matched all six numbers drawn Monday and is the lucky winner of a Powerball jackpot of $699.8 million. No one had won the game’s grand prize since June 5. According to Powerball, the odds of winning the grand prize were just 1 in 292.2 million. To put it more bluntly: You are more than 1,000 times as likely to find a pearl in an oyster shell, get struck by lightning, or date a supermodel. The $699.8 million jackpot was the seventh-largest in U.S. lottery history.
