MIAMI, FLORIDA - OCTOBER 13: A shopper walks past shelves with only a few items in the Halloween section in a Target store on October 13, 2021 in Miami, Florida. Halloween shoppers are being encouraged to shop for costumes and supplies early as stores struggle to maintain holiday stock due to disruptions in the supply chain. Everyone knew the supply chain issues were happening, but now we can see it clearly. Some stores Halloween sections are nearly wiped out. Unfortunately, that costume you want may be sitting in a container ship in California. The government has stepped in, having the ports open 24/7 to alleviate some of the backlog, but unloading the ships is only part of the problem.

Not sure why the video is getting cut off, if you click on it you’ll see rows and rows of stacked containers. That kind of reminds me of the scene in Indiana Jones when they put the Ark in a box and put it in a warehouse. Those containers seem to go on forever. All those containers sitting –  equals scenes like this:

All is not lost, however. If you don’t mind the drive, the Halloween Megastore in Miami still has decent supply. And, if all else fails, you’ll just need to get creative – like we did when we were kids. Happy Halloween everyone.
