Noshing at Nosh On Naples Bay
Noshing at Nosh on Naples Bay for Wine Wednesday. The Naples restaurant is usually closed for lunch, however, they hosted a special event on Wine Wednesday. The wine pairing lunch was for a local group named Wine Tasters of Southwest Florida.
The three course meal was not your average summer fare. For example, it contained some hearty meats such as elk and pork cheek. The result of Todd Johnson’s creativity was perfection when paired with wines. In short, it was a superb representation of what this chef does.
Tell me more
Todd is the chef and owner of Nosh and has a legendary reputation in the region. Back in the day, he was part of the 5th Avenue dining scene. However, at the time, it was not what it is today. You could say he helped to pave the way. In addition, Todd was part of an innovative culinary team that brought upscale dining to south Fort Myers decades ago, with Bistro 41. Next up, a chance on a remote location in Cape Coral, that became Rum Runners.
Today
After selling Rum Runners, Todd returned home to Naples. Now he is at a stunning location on Naples Bay, called Nosh and has put together an outstanding culinary team that includes well known chef Richard Howze.
The food and wine
What else
This is suppose to be the “slow season,” but there’s a lot going on in Southwest Florida. Especially true if you like food and wine. For example, this gathering with Chateau Montelena in Cape Coral. In addition, this fantastic this wine dinner at The Other Side Bistro in Bonita Springs. Now is the time to get out and enjoy the local dining scene, before all the winter tourists and snow birds descend again.
